Well, my spring break is finally coming to an end. With the weekend in full force, this means either one of two things: mass amounts of work needs to be done tomorrow and Sunday or copious amounts of alcohol need to be consumed. I've had enough detox and want to drink with my ladies (and Covich).
I must admit, this has been the best week I've had in the 315 in a very long time. By this I mean to say that I actually hung out with my Dad and we got along and didn't fight, it was everything I hoped it be and more. Not once did we butt heads over anything and this is quite pleasing to me. We watched several movies over the course of the week and we even went out to dinner tonight (his treat because I drove haha). Last week I requested a steak dinner and he went out and about to get me some steak so I could fill my meat craving, it was glorious. Along with the Pops, I actually got to hang out with Kara too. For those of you unfamiliar to this name, she is my step-sister (typically referred to as just my sister). I saw a bunch of kids from high school that I haven't seen since graduation and that was just awesome. I was so happy to see them. I've been beside myself all week with happiness and I haven't felt this way in a long time; I'm glad it's back.
Other boring things I've done this break: drug test, rented a car, argued with an insurance company.
Other fun things I've done this break: saw KT House! Spent all Wednesday with John (because we're going to get married after we've had our thrills). Started knitting leg warmers (why you ask? well, why the hell not I respond). Took Grandma Hahn out to lunch today. Saw the Madre on Easter.
Overall it has been a most successful week and I'm very stoked.
Above and beyond all else, my car is getting fixed! Yayy!!! I'm so happy about that. And after all is said and done, I should come out ahead; as long as I do, I'll be treating myself to a Jack's Mannequin concert with Anne and Nate (note to self: um, buy ticket... this is an important step in attending a concert).
I'll have the rental car for a week while my baby is getting fixed and then I get to come back next Friday to get her back. She'll be as good as new when the auto place gets done with her... and I can't wait. Until then, I've packed the rental with the essentials: Gum, CDs and a can of Frebreeze (for the prior renter was no doubt a chain smoker... I think I'm getting second hand smoke right now just from thinking about how bad it smells).
Sadly, I must leave the glorious 315 (where it effing snowed today... what's that shit all about...) tomorrow and return to the ever [not] so delightful Albania. The perk to this is I have great friends and liquor awaiting my arrival. So I guess the 518 gets some bonus points for that.
On a complete side note, the rental guy at Enterprise spelled my name wrong on the contract. Typically I point out that there's only one "e" in my name and that's in the last one, however I was distracted by John playing with the toy car and disciplining him as a good girlfriend should (as the rental guy most certainly believed we were dating from the all the great cracks that were made). As I got home, my lovely father pointed this error out to me. Now explain to me why, when you're copying straight from my license and debit card, you would proceed to spell my name wrong. I didn't make an error on either card. I didn't leave out the "e" on accident. Stupid people. No wonder they rent me cars instead of doing other things with their lives; they can't copy information correctly. This rant is totally pointless, but it made me both laugh and a little irritated at the same time. As I ranted to my father, he said he would start putting an "e" in my name and say he forgot how to spell it (like numerous other family members) at this I laughed, then proceeded to punch him. Good times.
Anywho, Covich has since invited me to play an internet game of beerpong, and who can pass that up?
I'll be in touch!
